Tutoring is in no way a substitute for formal training, but rather an ideal way of identifying gaps that exist after a student has engaged with the content inside the learning session. By employing “assessments-as-learning”, a methodology that develops students’ learning by engaging them in assessments tasks, students identify what they have learnt, what they need to learn and how to find out what they need to know.
